Layout Design

Visual Identity

I was approached by an art history professor to assist with layout design for an upcoming exhibition he was organizing. Some graduate students had already designed a logo and style tile for the exhibition, and I was tasked with taking those visual elements and applying them to the layout of the exhibition catalog. This involved ensuring that the design complemented the existing branding while creating an elegant and functional catalog that showcased the exhibition's works and content in a visually compelling way.

Background

Outcome

The catalogue, which has since been published, was featured in the Art of the Book exhibition at the Charles Library at Temple University. The exhibition was highly successful and included presentations from several graduate students. During the design process, I focused on incorporating photographs and patterns into the layout, ensuring that each element aligned with the established visual identity. I worked to maintain a cohesive flow throughout the 168-page catalogue, balancing design with functionality to ensure a polished, professional final product. The catalogue played a key role in showcasing the exhibition’s content, and the success of both the publication and the exhibition reflected the effectiveness of the design in elevating the overall experience.
